Objectives
The project aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Promoting coordination, multidisciplinary cooperation and mutual understanding among the sectors of police, medical, legal, social service and education (national authorities & civil society), for improved detection, identification and response to ACEs during the process of investigation, removal and out-of-home placement of children victims of CAN.
- Development of an inter-disciplinary trauma-informed training toolkit for improving, strengthening and harmonizing law enforcement and social work professionals’ skills/capacities and practices during investigation, removal and out-of home placement of children victims of CAN.
- Development of an inter-disciplinary trauma-informed training toolkit for improving, strengthening and harmonizing law enforcement and social work professionals’ skills/capacities and practices during investigation, removal and out-of home placement of children victims of CAN.
- Educating first responders (social workers, police officers, medical practitioners) about effective trauma-specific practices and increase the capacity building of first responders on trauma-informed practices and responses to ACEs.
- Promoting the exchange of good practices and experiences among different EU countries as well as to promote policies and interventions addressing root causes of trauma on children during the process of investigation, removal and out-of-home placement.
- Empowerment of children in residential care and enhancement of child participation.
- Raising awareness of target groups about the effects of trauma on children and families at local and EU level.
- Promoting cooperation between public authorities and NGOs at local and EU level.
